I am the Development Officer (ELearning), within the QuILT service at Newcastle University and started this post in November 2007. I have taught with and had experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) for over 9 years. I recently obtained CMALT status in January 2009 and used this blog to present my portfolio.
Prior to my role within QuILT, I worked for another service within the University, Netskills. My role at Netskills was to deliver and develop e-Learning and web-related training workshops to a wide range of participants (predominantly the Education community), throughout the UK. I worked for Netskills for two years (2005 – 2007).
I spent several years working for the School of Computing at the University of Teesside in various roles, all related to teaching different groups of learners: undergraduates, postgraduates, and many people within the voluntary and community sector.Pre 2000 I worked in the commercial sector for over a decade in various managerial capacities for a national sales and distribution group of companies.
